About

Sarah Katherine Gray was born in Connecticut and has lived in Buffalo, Philadelphia, and New York. She received her B.A. in Arts & Letters from Buffalo State College, where her studio time brought paintings, drawings, paper sculptures, and prints to life. She received her M.S. in Art Therapy & Counseling from the College of New Rochelle, where her studio time birthed sculptures in stone and ceramic and abstract work in the form of paintings, mixed media, and sketches.

Her current body of work is moving away from the figure and into the deeper layers of human emotions. Capturing feelings and creating with intuition has always played an integral role in her painting, but now it is the primary focus. She uses layers of acrylic paint, found objects, and lost things to create depth and play with textures. Natural materials are incorporated into layered paint to create these inspiring works.

She is currently living in Dutchess County, New York and when not focusing on raising her daughters, she is working as an Art Therapist, Observer/Writer, and Painter.
